This week, Jasper Golden Nugget turned 4 years old. And if you’ve been following along, you already know this dog isn’t just a dog to me. He’s been my shadow, my teammate, and my reason to keep going on the days when things felt heavy. Four years ago, there was no Nuggy Dog Co., no Camp Clucker, no community, just a guy and his golden retriever.
Somewhere along the way, things started to change. We started posting, people started watching, and then they started coming back. Before I knew it, Nugget wasn’t just making me smile anymore, he was making thousands of people smile every single day. That’s when it hit me, this was never about content. This was about connection.
We built this brand the same way Nugget lives his life, full speed, no hesitation. From packing orders in the basement, to seeing Camp Clucker show up in homes across the country, to watching this community grow one real interaction at a time, there was never a blueprint. No ads, no shortcuts, no pretending. Just showing up every day and telling the truth.
This year, I asked myself what you get a dog who already has everything. And the answer was simple, nothing. Nugget doesn’t need more toys or more stuff. So instead, we turned his birthday into something bigger. We asked you to help another pup. Maybe it’s a friend’s dog, maybe it’s someone going through a tough time, or maybe it’s a pup who just needs something to brighten their day. And just like that, you showed up again.
That’s why Nuggy Dog Co. exists. We didn’t build this brand just to sell products. We built it to help people take better care of their dogs, to create moments that matter, and to build something real in a world full of noise. Every order, every message, every photo you send, it all means something. More than you probably realize.
Four years in, and I finally feel like Nugget is really starting to show the world who he is, confident, happy, a little chaotic, and always full of love. And me, I’m still here, chopping at that tree every day, because I know what we’re building is special.
